RO Membrane Acidic Cleaning
RO membrane acid scrubbing is a chemical cleaning process applied to reverse osmosis systems to remove inorganic precipitates (scaling) that form on membrane surfaces. These precipitates consist mainly of calcium carbonate and calcium sulfate, as well as iron oxides, metal hydroxides, and other mineral deposits.
Kutup Chemical Engineering determines the cleaning chemical, pH range, and application time for RO membrane acid scrubbing applications based on engineering principles, taking into account water analysis results, system recovery rates, and membrane type. This controlled approach ensures effective dissolution of mineral deposits while preventing damage to the membrane structure.
By acid washing;
-
Scale and mineral deposits on RO membrane surfaces are removed.
-
The differential pressure is reduced.
-
Energy consumption is optimized.
-
Membrane flux performance is recovered.
Kutup Chemical Engineering performs acidic CIP applications in accordance with membrane manufacturer limits , using safe and traceable procedures. Pre- and post-application performance evaluations verify cleaning effectiveness, supporting the long-term operation of RO systems.
